Aimed at secondary school girls (and mums) from Gloucestershire, we now offer a beginners’ course for #ShePaddles on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.

Our female coach will teach you all the paddling skills you will need to excel in this exciting sport. The club will introduce you to flat water kayak racing in long kayaks designed for stability, covering distances quickly and easily. After 8 weeks, you will be ready to join the rest of the marathon group continuing your training.

What to wear? Bring layers of old clothes remember, you will get wet! Old thin trainers or aqua shoes. Also bring a towel, a whole set of dry clothes and apply sun tan lotion before you leave home. The club will lend you a life jacket buoyancy aid, a kayak and paddle too!

#ShePaddles also qualifies for your DofE/PE physical. You must be able to swim 50 metres unaided and a minimum age of 11. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will help on the bank side carrying boats, sometimes timing mini races. With onsite toilets, showers & changing room.
